With four kids and a dog, it’s difficult to design a home that will withstand the ebbs and flows of daily life. By keeping materials, patterns, and fabrics simple but the shape and texture rich, we created a home for the client that was both minimalist and maximalist in the same broad stroke.

The client came to us with a spec home that needed to be upgraded and customized. In this project, we designed custom furnishings and hand-selected details. With the client, we created a beach-inspired traditional home that was neither too modern nor too stuffy. Combining a fresh palette with rich textures and materials, we achieved a beautiful result for a family home.

To work on a home that I myself spent a lot of time in as a child was a full-circle experience. What was once a 1960’s red-wood box filled with kitsch and era-charm was remodeled to a comfortable and contemporary farmhouse.
